Streaming TV shows and Movies at Hulu.com
This is pretty nice, I visited Hulu.com the other day and found a nicely organized and presented site that has quite a number of tv shows and movies available for playing online. Most sites that claim to have online movies or videos for streaming have eclectic mixes of ancient items or amateur video, but this has “tvland”-sh selections up to even more recent shows. It looks as though they’re taking advantage of rss so if you want to know when they get a new Addams Family episode or a new Simpsons or Family Guy episode you can just subscribe to the feed.
So, you can’t really download the episodes, just watch them in the browser. They do have “limited” commercial interruption. One thing that I like though is it’s a small flash player that worked in firefox on linux which can’t be said for every online video player. You can also get a “full screen” mode which isn’t EXACTLY full screen, but that’s nice.
I was surprised to find some more recent movies (Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World, Ice Age) listed. I really hope hulu.com makes this model work, advertising supported online tv shows could be a nice time to time diversion. I suspect the download option isn’t happening because people could pretty easily just edit out the commercial breaks.
