NHK Radio Japan



NHK Radio Japan is an international broadcaster with a long history. It was initially modeled on the BBC of the United Kingdom and founded in 1926. The first shortwave broadcast was launced in 1935. Through the dark years of World War II it was an official mouthpiece of the Imperial Army. Currently NHK World broadcasts around 65 hours of content each day in 17 languages which include: English, Arabic, Bengali, Burmese, Chinese, French, Hindi, Indonesian, Korean, Persian, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Swahili, Thai, Urdu , and Vietnamese. Content is available both
