2008 Charlotte Hamfest
I got notice today of the 2008 Charlotte Hamfest. It’s put on by the Mecklenburg, NC Amateur Radio Society. The date for the hamfest is March 8-9, 2008. The even will be at the Charlotte Merchandise Mart, Freedom and Independence Halls at 2500 East independence Boulevard in Charlotte, NC. Advanced registration must be postmarked by February 23, 2008. Here are some of the good things they’ll have….
Over 100 commercial exhibitor booths, all major manufacturers will be represented, over 400 swap tables (!), VEC testing on Saturday, HOURLY prizes, $500 worth of prizes at bingo, and forums scheduled for both days. The pre registration prize is a dual band mobile rig which will be drawn for at 10AM on March 8th. (No need to be present to win.) The hours Saturday the 8th are 8:30AM to 5PM, and Sunday the 9th from 9am to 1pm.
There will also be a talk in via 145.29 which is the W4BFB repeater. VEC exams will be Saturday, March 8 at 1PM. GPS location of the event is Lat: 35 degrees 12 ‘ 24.03” N, Lon: 80 degrees 47; 54.55”
