Yet MORE electronics resources….

OK - more links, I seem to keep turning up some good resources for electronics info/supplies/etc. First up is Datasheetarchive.com which is a great place to find information on salvaged or “just laying around” components. I’ve rarely visited the site directly, usually when I google a part identifier I find they’re one of the top 10 results. Next up are a few electronics vendors goldmine electronic products has a wide variety of components ranging from ic’s resistors/capacitors to solar cells, etc. etc. etc. etc. Lot’s of neat stuff. sparkfun.com is another source for components, plus tutorials… a lot of their stuff is…

componentized…. in a sense… for instance they might sell boards with a gps receiver chip…. or a usb breakout board or bluetooth - so that you can more easily integrate bluetooth/gps or usb into a project without “reinventing the wheel”.

I’ve been reminded of surplussales.com (Surplus sales of Nebraska as a big surplus/electronics vendor as well. That was brought back to memory after reading this how-to on building your own transmitting air variable capacitors… surplus sales has some air variable capacitors as well, but if you’re into REALLY building from scratch - that article should give you a good start.

From there… I’ve come across makezine’s blog again which isn’t strictly electronics related, but all sorts of do it yourself projects and more…. I came across this article at evilmadscientist.com on a supercapacitor contest which sounded interesting. The idea was to find different applications for supercapacitors and the best idea won a prize… From there, I visited a do it yourself solar beacon (one of the supercap ideas), diyhappy.com (just another site with diy stuff….) solder-it.com with all sorts of heat-solder iron style tools.

For forum based project ideas and discussion…. there’s electro-tech-online.com forums…. it’s a good resource to just sit/read and learn….

That’s all for now, some may have been linked before, most came to my attention as I was searching for supercapacitors and then variable capacitors……
