Looking for English language shortwave broadcasts?

One of the things I was struck by when I first started into listening to shortwave was the number of languages I heard. Outside of English language religious programming, it seemed that spanish programming, chinese, english news, and then several other categories were easily found (in that order of quantity….) There ARE a good number of English language news broadcasts though and there are some great guides to where and when to tune in as well.

Probably the BEST listing is primetimeshortwave.com They try to keep things updated weekly and focus on English language programming. They have a number of downloads on their site of schedules from sorted by time, to sorted by frequency and country. They also have a UTC conversion chart. It’s one that I should probably add to the site’s links bar.

They even have some of their charts formatted for a Palm device.
